If it weren't for one glaring flaw, this would be the best chair I have ever sat in. The mesh provides remarkable support while remaining breathable. The construction felt bullet proof.

The look is super sexy. The issue? You can't lean back without any amount of weight or you end up fully reclined. This was intentional on HM's part as the chair is supposed to sense your weight and recline the perfect amount. Trouble is, it doesn't work right. Mine let me fall all the way back after putting maybe 40% of my weight backward. This chair is perfect, except that I had to return it.

Design story. When Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick designed the Herman Miller Aeron Chair (1994), they combined a deep knowledge of human-centered design with never-before-seen technology to create a task chair unlike any other.

In 2016, Don Chadwick evolved his chair to incorporate 20 years’ research in the science of sitting, as well as advancements in materials. “We really started from the ground up,” he says.

“The result better supports the type of work we do today.”The changes include a new suspension system, better spine support, re-engineered tilt and more. It’s more lively, more responsive and more sensitive to body size. In other words, it’s everything the world loves about Aeron, plus more. This is the authentic Aeron Chair produced by Herman Miller. Made in U.S.A.Features and benefits.Adjustable PostureFit SL Support: SL refers to the sacral/lumbar region, which is the base of the spine up to the midback. This backrest supports the spine while maintaining the natural forward tilt of the pelvis, with two pads that flex independently to support your lumbar and stabilize the base of the spine for a more powerful seated posture. Breathable 8Z Pellicle Suspension Seat and Back: eight latitudinal zones of varying tension provide comfortable support while permitting air circulation to keep you cool.

Seat Tilt Mechanism: Whether leaning forward or reclining back, Aeron supports you through the entire range of motion, keeping your movements smooth and balanced.Find your size.Aeron is available in three sizes so you can find a perfect fit. Size Small is recommended for height 4'10'–5'9', weight 90–150 lbs.

Size Medium for height 5'2'–6'6', weight 130–325 lbs. Size Large for height: 5'3'–6'6', weight 180–350 lbs. I finally bit the bullet and sprung for the Aeron chair during a Black Friday deal.

I spend between 9 and 12 hours a day working from home and figured I should treat my body and back with more respect so I can keep working years from now without pain. My only complaint is about how much the chair cost, however I have to admit that it is far more comfortable than any chair I've ever owned and helps me to sit with much better posture throughout the day. So if this chair lasts at least 10 years, I'm going to consider it an excellent buy and a worthwhile investment in my body, career, and business.Oh, and the fact the chair shipped quickly and fully assembled in perfect condition was impressive as well. Have been using one at work for about a year.

Just bought one for my home.Chair makes clicky noise when coming up from a tilt limited angle. Armrests (fully adjustable ones) make annoying sound when you put your weight on them in the middle (does it on both sides so certain it isn't a workmanship defect). The posturefit parts make noise if you have them adjusted on the looser side. You may not notice this stuff I you are in a loud office environment, but it is very easily noticible in a quiet home (full disclosure, I'm very picky). How did your designers, engineers, and quality assurance people not catch this stuff? I would gladly pay even more than the already very steep price for a product that doesn't make annoying clicky sounds (quiet but noticable). On a positive note, the ergonomics are incredible. The materials are second to none. I also love the aesthetics.Herman Miller, please fix your product and hit me up.

I would gladly purchase again if random parts of the chair didn't pop and click.Still in the market for a good ergonomic chair since embody has horrible armrests and mirra has durability issues (easily cracking plastic). I’m 6’2”, skinny and have a hard time finding a chair that fits me. I got the large version of this chair and it’s still too short for my torso. It’s fine when I have it locked upright and I sit up straight, but when I lean back, the hard plastic rim hits right across my shoulder blades. However, with a 3rd party headrest from Amazon, it fixed the discomfort and made it fully usable. I love the customization and use the multi position tilt lock far more than I anticipated. The hard-floor casters are awesome!

I glide around easily even on my low-pile rug. I use the old version of the Aeron at my work and can feel the improvement in the lumbar support of the new version. For anyone that hasn’t tried the chair yet, it doesn’t “wow” immediately with comfort like a cushy recliner. The “wow” factor comes when you get out of the chair after a 10-hour work day and you aren’t sore. Just arrived today. I was very hesitant to purchase such an expensive chair, but my old $80 executive chair from Staples was going bad. And I was willing to afford the upgrade to last at least a decade.

Had a few decade-old models at work so I knew ahead of time what kind of chair it was.My only complaint is that the standard/non-adjustable arms are a bit too low for my taste, though that's completely my fault for not paying the extra 100 or so dollars to upgrade them to height-adjustable. Since it's my fault for not wanting to spend the extra money, and probably not worth a return/refund I won't take a star away, since the chair is very high quality and deserving of 5 stars.Back support is very nice, the mesh you sit on is very comfortable, and build quality is fantastic. The Aeron is the most comfortable chair I have ever owned.

I ordered it with ever option available. My favorite feature is that this is the quietest gliding chair I have ever owned. Whatever these casters are made of is incredible, completely silent on my Vitrazza Glass Chair Mat.The Aeron is almost perfect; and it can be improved in only a few areas as follows:The adjustable Lumbar & Posturefit could be redesigned to adjust a bit easier. I am unable on mine to lower where the support sits in the small of my back and it needs to be about an inch lower for perfect fit.The Adjustable arm rests are really nice, but sometimes I wish I could swing them down and move the completely out of the way so that my arms are completely free on the sides. If only there were a hinge of some sort for each arm rest that I could use to swing/rotate them both down and out of the way. I also do not like that when I sit, I tend to use my arms to 0ease my self into the chair by putting my hands on the arm rests, and my weight sends them flying forward. There should be a lock on them, so that for each position forwards and back, they can be locked into place. Finally I wish there were a matching factory headrest option.

Sometimes I want to just lean back and rest my head against something as well for a minute while I think. I am not too keen on the 3rd party options out there.
